Alan Pattillo
Alan Pattillo (17 July 1929 - 16 January 2020[1]) was the script editor for the first series of the supermarionation television series Thunderbirds, excluding the very first story Trapped in the Sky. This included the episode The Man from MI.5, which crossed over into the Doctor Who universe by featuring an appearance by the Daleks. He was also a director and writer, directing four episodes of the series, including the first, and penning a further seven.
Pattillo was involved in several other creations of Gerry Anderson which shared crossovers with the DWU. He directed thirteen episodes of Supercar, eleven episodes each for Fireball XL5 and Stingray, and wrote one episode of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. On other Anderson productions, Pattillo was an editor for some of Four Feather Falls in addition to directing seven episodes, a writer for one episode of UFO, an editor for some of Space: 1999, and the director of five episodes of Terrahawks.
Pattillo's other writing credit was for providing the story to a 1967 The Avengers episode. He was most prolific, however, outside his work for Anderson as a sound effects editor and sound editor. He was the former on the 1982 film Pink Floyd – The Wall and won an Emmy Award for his editing on the 1979 television film All Quiet on the Western Front.
