The Evolving Dead was the first story of The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Volume Two, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written Doris V Sutherland and featured Jacob Dudman as the Eleventh Doctor.
It was also the first story of The Doctor Chronicles to feature a full cast.
Publisher's summary
The dead stalk the corridors of research station Romeo. For a technician (dead) and her ex-boyfriend (also dead), the Doctor’s their only chance to escape. For the rest of the crew, he's their only chance to feed.

- The Doctor is intending to arrive for Alfred the Great's coronation in 871 AD. He had met Alfred the Great in his previous incarnation, including his Fourth, (AUDIO: Babblesphere) Sixth, (PROSE: The Man Who Wouldn't Give Up) Tenth, (PROSE: Revenge of the Judoon) and earlier in his Eleventh incarnation. (COMIC: They Think It's All Over)
- The Doctor mentions that his sonic screwdriver started off as a conventional screwdriver, but now has numerous additional functions. (TV: The War Games)
- The Doctor battles and communicates with Evo in his mind, something he would also do against Mr Clever in TV: Nightmare in Silver.
