Avalon (The Shadows of Avalon)

Avalon, otherwise named the Land of Dreams, was an alternate dimension created by Gallifreyan Interventionists. It existed in the unconscious mind of King Constantine, whose dreaming gave it substance. It was made for the Catuvelauni, a Celtic tribe, to escape Roman invaders. Avalon occupies the same space as England in its other dimension and is the same size as Great Britain.
The land is ruled by the Queen Regent, Mab and guarded by Unseelie War Mages. Also living in Avalon were dragons created by magic and the Fair Folk, Silurians who were unintentionally brought along with the Catuveluani.
The TARDIS hit a weak spot in 2012 between Avalon and England, causing its apparent destruction. The collision opened a rift between the dimensions, temporarily stranding the Doctor in Avalon and causing a military conflict to break out between Queen Mab`s court and British UNIT forces. After the realm was saved and before the rift was closed, Avalon was where Compassion completed her transformation into a TARDIS. (PROSE: The Shadows of Avalon)
