Niccolo Machiavelli

Niccolo Machiavelli was a writer and politician. The First Doctor, Steven Taylor and Vicki Pallister landed inside his house in Florence, Italy in 1514. He advised the Doctor on the best way to get Steven and Vicki back after they were arrested. He later accused the Doctor of planning to kill the Pope Leo X and Guiliano de Medici. He did this to aid his plan. (AUDIO: The Ravelli Conspiracy)

Machiavelli acted as an adviser to Parallaxia div Procyon during the City of the Saved Civil War. (PROSE: Interlude from a Civil War)

Ian Chesterton thought that the First Doctor took on a calculating expression that would have done justice to Machiavelli or Sun Tzu. (PROSE: The Eleventh Tiger)

In a dream of Barbara Wright's, induced during her travels by an attack of a creature they encountered, Ian told her that Roger Kint could "teach Machiavelli a thing or two". (PROSE: Nothing at the End of the Lane)

The Cybus Industries website, which tied into Rise of the Cybermen and The Age of Steel, featured an interview with John Lumic, the creator of the Cybermen of Pete's World. When asked the which four people he would invite to dinner, Lumic listed Machiavelli along with Genghis Khan and Adolf Hitler, citing all three as having "got what they wanted in spite of the little people".[1]
