Evan was the coroner who performed the autopsy of George Cooper at PKD's London facility in 2000. He and Tom Mordley were on a first-name basis.

Evan found nothing to contradict the initial diagnosis that George had died of an ordinary heart attack, possibly after being frightened by something in a nightmare. However, he did also notice the curious pooling of a silvery substance in the veins at the back of his head. Mordley and Lauren Anderson recognised the liquid as Cyberon and were baffled, because, regardless of whether this was directly connected to George's cause of ddeath, the drug had been injected directly into Cooper's brain and was not supposed to enter his blood stream at all.
