Talk:Short Trips: A Christmas Treasury
Rename
It occurs to me that, just as UNIT: Dominion is a redirect to Dominion (audio story), this page (and most over Short Trips anthologies) should really be titled A Christmas Treasury (anthology). And frankly it's bizarre that we haven't noticed this before! Is anyone opposed to the rename? – n8 (☎) 19:30, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, unnecessary work and why is it needed? Isn't it easier to find a short trips anthology if it has short trips in the name? Shambala108 ☎ 21:38, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- As User:CzechOut has explained to me many times, that's why renames and redirects exist. When looking for Dominion, most people probably type "UNIT: Dominion" or "UNIT Dominion" into the search bar, and both times they're met with Dominion as the top suggestion; the same applies here. And it won't be much work at all, actually, since (again) redirects exist. What it would fix is the many scenarios where editors have put in extra work to pipe switch away the word "Short Trips" to present absurd redundancy, such as on Short Trips where it's elided from the cover, or in the many places where that effort hasn't been put in and as a result "Short Trips" is repeated a useless amount of times, such as the "prev" and "next" variables in every infobox. I don't think it needs much explaining why "A Christmas Treasury was the eleventh Short Trips anthology" is preferable to "Short Trips: A Christmas Treasury was the eleventh Short Trips anthology". – n8 (☎) 22:30, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- …Wasn't there an ongoing thread about this? In any case, even if there wasn't, there probably should be. We would be talking about a change to a large number of fairly major pages. Scrooge MacDuck ☎ 23:23, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Wouldn't this also apply the Virgin Decalogs? Shouldn't Decalog be Decalog (anthology) (which may allow us to move the page for the series itself to simply "Decalog"), Decalog 2: Lost Property be Lost Property (anthology), Decalog 3: Consequences be Consequences (Decalog anthology) (with the Torchwood anthology of the same name also renamed as appropriate), Decalog 4: Re:Generations be Re:Generations (anthology) and Decalog 5: Wonders be Wonders (anthology)?
