The Two Streams Facility specialised in infection control and palliative care, facilitating a pleasant end-of-life for patients dying of Chen-7 on Apalapucia. This included service by the Handbots, who were placed here to serve and to offer regular medication, or "kindnesses". (TV: The Girl Who Waited)

Despite discovering the cure for the common cold, Henry van Statten rhetorically asked "Why sell one cure when I can sell a thousand palliatives?" (TV: Dalek)
