An unnamed Viking leader took a scouting party to reconnoitre Northumbria in the late summer of 1066, preparatory to Harald Hardrada's ill-fated invasion of England.

He sent Sven, Ulf and Gunnar to spy out the land. (TV: The Time Meddler)
