- 2000 - The Big Finish audio story The Fires of Vulcan was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2010 - The Sun tabloid reported that BBC Worldwide had signed a £10-million deal with Nintendo for the development of a Doctor Who game for the Wii and DS gaming systems.
- 2012 - Roath Lock was officially opened by Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones.
- 2018 - The fourth and fifth series of Big Finish's audio series The Diary of River Song were recorded.
- 2019 - The second series of Big Finish's audio series The Lives of Captain Jack was recorded at the Soundhouse.
- 2019 - The Big Finish audio story Daughter of the Gods was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2020 - Big Finish's The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield audio anthology Lost in Translation was recorded at the Moat Studios.
