Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay

Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay was a play written by Robert Greene.

The Ninth Doctor described it as the "big comedy hit of 1589". By the 21st century, however, Greene was largely unknown. When the Shadeys brought Greene forward in time to see how he would be remembered, he found the bookshop Books Unltd and asked to be conveyed to the works of Robert Greene. He was angered to learn that all they had was a single copy of Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay, the only one in print. (COMIC: A Groatsworth of Wit)
