A Vitrox bomb was an effective-yet-resource intensive bomb; it required a significant amount of power to detonate.

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

Group Marshal Nathan and Turner, members of the Tenth Sontaran Battle Brigade, plotted to destroy the Sixth Doctor's TARDIS after inexplicably getting inside the timeship.

The Doctor, knowing of the two Sontarans' plan, sought Tegan's help in isolating the power inside the TARDIS to the control room to prevent the Sontarans from tapping into the power cable to activate the bomb and to lure them to the control room. After Tegan accidentally activated the matter transporter, the machine that inadvertently brought her to the TARDIS, a young human boy called Gareth Jenkins arrived, and the Doctor and Gareth lay a trap for the Sontarans, which they ultimately fell victim to, dying brutally.
