Moonbase One, later Moonbase Laika, was a UNIT facility located on the Moon. (PROSE: Horror of the Space Snakes, The Doc's Side of the Moon)
History
Liz Shaw had helped UNIT plan the Moonbase as early as the 1970s, (AUDIO: The Cloisters of Terror) and during the Sycorax invasion of Earth in 2006, (TV: The Christmas Invasion, et al.) it was known to at least Sgt A. Frederick that UNIT was building a "secret mission control centre". She mentioned this on an operations board to other UNIT personnel after she told them about her press briefing of the situation. In 2006, UNIT set up Moonbase One as a scientific research station. (PROSE: Horror of the Space Snakes)
Liz was stationed at the facility in 2010. She could not attend the Eleventh Doctor's funeral as she could not return until the following Sunday. (TV: Death of the Doctor)
After UNIT was shut down circa 2018, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart hoped that it was empty. (PROSE: Lucy Wilson and the Bledoe Cadets)

Alternate timeline
In an alternate timeline where the Cybermen allied with Rassilon and began rewriting history, (COMIC: Supremacy of the Cybermen) the Second Doctor was partially converted while on the Moonbase. (COMIC: Prologue: The Second Doctor)
