Fred Crampton was a millworker from Huddersfield who, at least on occasion, travelled on his bike, and was, according to the Sixth Doctor, the first person to "discover" America. Unfortunately, "America didn't want to be discovered yet", and he was shot by three Native Americans. (COMIC: The Incredible Doctor Who History Tour (No. 7.))
