Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Peri knows that America was discovered by both the Vikings and Christopher Columbus.
- The Doctor claims America was actually discovered by Fred Crampton, a mill worker from Huddersfield who was not mentioned in the history books because he was shot with arrows by the natives.
- The Doctor tells Peri that a pressing concern was bringing "civilisation" to the natives, as well as building supermarkets on their land.
- Peri thinks people like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Abraham Lincoln were some of the great men who helped forge the nation but the Doctor thinks more along the lines of Ronald McDonald, Mickey Mouse and Steven Spielberg.
- Superman can be seen from afar thinking to himself that he could leap tall TARDISes in a single bound.
- A worm is in the ground next to Ronald McDonald.
