Gargoyles were conceptual entities created by the Celestis to guard the outer wall of Mictlan. A predecessor to anarchitects, instead of possessing the entire structure, each Gargoyle possessed a segment of the outer wall, pulling together a body from its material whenever an enemy was spotted in order to guard the way into or out of Mictlan.
