- January - Terrance Dicks was hired to the Doctor Who production team, as an assistant for Derrick Sherwin.

- 8 January - Model filming for The Web of Fear took place at BBC Television Centre Puppet Theatre. (TCH 11)

- 14 January - Location filming for The Web of Fear concluded. (TCH 11)

- 29 March - The decision was made to reduce The Dominators from six parts into five.[1]

- 19 April - The Mind Robber was extended from four parts into five, with Sherwin commissioned to write a new opening episode for the story.[1]
