On 13 September, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1968 - Location filming for The Invasion concluded. Pre-filming for the story also took place at Ealing Studios on this day. (TCH 13)
- 1969 - Filming began on Spearhead from Space. These were the first scenes shot in colour, as well as the first starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor.

- 2012 - The Big Finish audio story The Apocalypse Mirror was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2013 - Big Finish's audio adaptation of the novel The English Way of Death was recorded at Audio Sorcery,
- 2019 - Big Finish's audio anthology Stranded 1 was recorded.
- 2019 - Big Finish's audio anthology The First Doctor Adventures: Volume Five was recorded at the Soundhouse.
