Skaar was an Ice Warrior who boarded Tam Walsh's boat to contact something before jumping back into the sea. He later stole a radio from Dougie which allowed the Second Doctor to track him there. After briefly being captured by UNIT, he was captured by his own people. He was taken as a prisoner by Zelanda. He told the Second Doctor and Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart of Zelanda's plans. Zelanda ordered his death, but he and the Brigadier worked out how to escape and contact UNIT. He took several unit soldiers to Mars to rescue the Doctor and Sheena Flynn.
