The Electron Displacement Recorder was, in February 2065, the "newest" Dalek invention.

Soon after work was completed on it, its alarm signals sounded. A Dalek took its readings that electrons were displaced one hundred maga-particles above Skaro, indicating that a heavy body had entered the atmosphere. Another Dalek reported this to the Golden Emperor, (COMIC: Power Play) who ordered "immediate evasive action" (PROSE: Fireball Surrenders!) in the form of magnetising the surface's metallic sand in order to conceal the Dalek City. (COMIC: Power Play) TV Century 21 printed a Space Agency report on the subject on the front page of its 13 February edition, which relayed that "evidence of a strange saucer shaped craft" entering the atmosphere had been picked up on the Electron Displacement Recorder. (PROSE: Fireball Surrenders!) This craft proved to be Krattorian in origin, specifically Kest's spaceship. (COMIC: Power Play)
