The sonic chamber was an area of the Dalek City. When the Daleks of section 2 fell ill after taking anti-radiation drugs, they were brought to the sonic chamber. Meanwhile, the air which was polluted by radiation was directed away from the nuclear reactors into the sonic chamber. Except for one serious case, all Daleks in section 2 shown signs of recovery, confirming to the Daleks that the drug was a poison to them while radiation was still necessary. (TV: The Daleks)
