They were directly identified as so multiple times. There was not even the slightest suggestion ever stated that it wasn't them. Thus it is them, any suggestion otherwise is speculation. The page should be renamed "Tribe of Gum" (If it isn't already so) and info on the characters in the story should be added to the page. Case closed.
