Come on TARDIS, let's go party was an illustration exclusively published on the official Doctor Who Twitter[1] and Instagram[2] on 12 July 2023 to coincide with the marketing for the 2023 film Barbie which stars Ncuti Gatwa among others.

Notably, on Russell T Davies's Instagram account, he clarified that this photograph of a pink TARDIS genuinely depicted in-universe events.[3]

Summary

In the 2020s, the TARDIS has landed by the side of the River Thames, painted in a brilliant pink colour scheme.

References

  • Tower Bridge is visible behind the TARDIS.
  • One corner of the TARDIS's new paintjob is peeling, showing the original blue underneath.

Notes

  • On the Warner Bros. UK Instagram account, a short clip of the pink TARDIS was posted, set to the theme song of the Barbie film.[4]
  • The title, Come on TARDIS, let's go party, is a play on the Aqua song "Barbie Girl", which featured the lyrics "come on Barbie, let's go party".
  • Later on 12 July, the Doctor Who Twitter account shared photographs of fans who visited the pink TARDIS prop, which had actually been constructed on the bank of the Thames.[5]
