The Threshold was a short story exclusivly published in the Endgame graphic novel on 7 October 2005 (releases.[source needed] Written by Scott Gray, the story detailed the story of the Threshold by recapping the comic Ground Zero.

  • As his TARDIS recovers from breaking into Unconscious Mind, the TARDIS control room becomes "dark and empty" to reflect the Doctor's grief for Ace, though his grief lessens in his next incarnation.

Continuity

  • This story refers to the Doctor's regeneration in San Francisco whilst battling "an ancient enemy", which was depicted in the 1996 television movie Doctor Who.
  • The Eighth Doctor abandons his previous incarnation's manipulative streak, vowing to be neither player nor pawn, which was depicted in detail in the novel Vampire Science and the short story Model Train Set.
