Alan Bromly (born Alan James Bromly[1] on 13 September 1915, died on September 1995[2]) directed the Doctor Who television stories The Time Warrior and Nightmare of Eden.

Crew members working alongside him on the latter story faced some difficulty communicating with him on set because he was very set in his ways. Bromly became overcome with stress and resigned midway through production of the serial. Instead of finding a replacement for Bromly, producer Graham Williams decided to direct the rest of the serial himself. (DOC: The Nightmare of Television Centre)
