The computers of a spaceship stranded at the edge of the universe were programmed in a language the Fourteenth Doctor did not already know. As a result, when the TARDIS fled the ship due to the Hostile Action Displacement System, the Doctor was forced to try and interpret the situation onboard the ship without the use of the translation circuit.

He was able to identify the numerals used in the language's writing system upon reaching the ship's bridge, but, not having heard the language spoken, did not initially realize that the words being broadcast over the ship's intercom were numbers and a countdown.
