Sentience

While sentience is defined as the ability to perceive or feel, science fiction, including "Doctor Who," typically define it as having human level consciousness.[1] According to Jingo Linx, the variety of sentient life forms was infinite. (TV: The Time Warrior); and all sentient beings had an entry in the Fatality Index. (TV: Extremis)

Time Lords made many sentient objects, including their chapterhouses, (PROSE: Lungbarrow) TARDISes, and many of their weapons. This included the Hush and the Moment, both weapons used in the Last Great Time War. (AUDIO: Dead Air; TV: The Day of the Doctor)

In New Earth it is mentioned that Sister Corvin wrote a thesis entitled "The Echo of Life", concerning the migration of sentience (TV: "New Earth").

By the Dalek-Movellan War, Davros, creator of the Daleks, was deemed by Tyssan to have committed "crimes against the whole of sentient creation", for which he was to stand trial. (TV: Destiny of the Daleks)

The Headless Monks paid Dorium Maldovar in sentient money. (TV: Prequel (A Good Man Goes to War))

House was a sentient asteroid. (TV: The Doctor's Wife)
