Cathica's infospike is activated. (TV: The Long Game)

The infospike was a procedure that involved creating a hole in the forehead to be able to download massive amounts of data from screens aboard Satellite Five by the year 200,000, though the person would not remember the information as the brain would not be able to cope with such an amount. Avaliable at Satellite Five for the price of 10,000 credits, the infospike was "type two" brain chip to the "type one" head chip.

The Ninth Doctor considered the technology backwards for the time. Part of the front of the brain was visible through the hole. Adam Mitchell had an infospike installed into his head. Cathica Santini Khadeni also had an infospike installed in her head. The infospike was opened by a simple finger snap or click, by default, but this could be customised to, for example, whistling a particular tune. Cathica used her infospike to override Floor 500's heat vents and kill the Jagrafess. (TV: The Long Game)
