Doctor Who Adventures, now a weekly publication from the BBC launched in 2006 and aimed at young readers. It regularly includes news, features, comic strip, puzzles, competitions and games.

  • In addition each issue came with an exclusive free gift, some issues were available with various sets available for collectors.
  • Sometimes the magazine was bagged but more often the gift was attached to the cover by clear "sticky backed plastic".
  • The gifts were not always as advertised, being substituted at late notice for various reasons (see specific issues for further information).

The inclusion of these premiums is considered a reason as to why Doctor Who Adventures magazine is not distributed outside of the UK, even though its larger brother, Doctor Who Magazine, has occasionally been packaged with bonus items as well, yet retains North American distribution.
