Tarek Gamal was the head of data security at the Emit Institute. He wondered how Melanie Bush knew Patricia McBride. Mel stole his security badge distracting them with a coding bug. He suspected her as a spy and told her not to find information. He placed Mel in Killian Holm's machine on his orders to torture her. He eventually agreed with Mel's actions after seeing the deaths of his colleagues caused by Holm's original homo sapiens. His memory was wiped due to his time stream being reverted before he started working for the Emit institute.
