History
In 5087, the Anglican Marines were engaged in a war on the planet Kastarion 3 against a seemingly-invisible enemy, the "Kastarions". A significant amount of technology supplied by the Villengard Corporation was used in the conflict, including roving ambulance units and landmines. The war had been raging for six months when the Doctor arrived on the planet and realised the Kastarions were non-existent, with the marines being manipulated into fighting the faux war by a Villengard algorithm for profit. In the 52nd century, a platoon of Marines serving under Colonel Manton were stationed on the asteroid Demon's Run. They constituted a part of the Kovarian Chapter, led by Madame Kovarian and were tasked with guarding Amy Pond and the baby Melody Pond. At the ensuing Battle of Demons Run the marines fell for the Eleventh Doctor's trap, leaving themselves defenceless against a platton of Judoon and a battalion of Silurian warriors. The battle was part of the war against the Doctor, (TV: A Good Man Goes to War [+]Loading...["A Good Man Goes to War (TV story)"]) in which the Kovarian Chapter tried unsuccessfully to avert the Siege of Trenzalore. Members
Members of the Marines fighting on Kastarion 3 included Mundy Flynn, John Francis Vater, Canterbury James Olliphant and Carson. They were led by the Bishop. (TV: Boom [+]Loading...["Boom (TV story)"]) The Marines stationed on Demon's Run were led by Colonel Manton, and included the Thin and Fat Ones, Lorna Bucket and Lucas.
