Nathan Connolly was an author of a series of mystery novels that featured Nerissa as a side character. When he came to understand that Nerissa wished to use them to escape, he murdered both his agent and publisher, destroyed every copy of his books he can reach, as well as destroying the unfinished manuscript of the next book.
