Hidden Away / Facts

  • River Song’s escape from the Byzantium was filmed against a green screen at the Doctor Who studio, Upper Boat, Wales on 13th August 2009. To give Matt Smith more room (and allow his easy entrance), the back panel of the elevated TARDIS prop was removed.
  • River Song’s book of Spoilers includes their Asguard picnic, what happens at the Bone Meadows, crash of the Byzantium, and the singing towers at Darillium.
  • Four free downloadable Doctor Who Adventure Games will be available from the www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho from June 2010. The games will feature Cybermen, an icy world, and a devastated London.
  • In 2009, Blue Peter launched a design a console competition that would be seen in the new series. The winners are seen meeting Matt Smith with their designs on the show to be screened Tuesday 4th May on BBC1 at 4.35 or on the BBCi player catchup service.
