The Horror of Fang Updated Special Effects were a visual update to Horror of Fang Rock [+]Loading...["Horror of Fang Rock (TV story)"] created by Chris Thompson for the story's 2024 blu-ray release in The Collection. It notably featured a new design for the Rutan scout which was created with a physical puppet.

Deviations from original serial
- The fog is updated with new effects.
- The ship crashing is updated to be more realistic.
- The Rutan's true form is obscured more in scenes where it climbs the outside of the lighthouse.
- The effects of the Rutan shifting form are changed such that Reuben Whormby is splits apart from the middle, revealing wriggling tendrils.
- The Rutan has a new design with an eye, which lets it stands.
