Cut (game)

Cut was a card game played between at least two players. It required only a deck of cards, leading the Fourteenth Doctor to declare it "the simplest game of all". The player's aim was the pick the card with the highest value in the deck from a point of their choosing in order to win.

The Fourteenth Doctor played a game of cut against the Toymaker in 1925 Soho in order to stop the Giggle. The Doctor opted to go first and cut at the Eight of Clubs, but the Toymaker cut at the King of Hearts and won the game. Though the Toymaker was initially giddy at his victory, the Doctor managed to up the stakes to "best of three", noting that the First Doctor had won the Trilogic Game so long ago.
