Wilhelm Keitel

Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel was a high-ranking military officer of Nazi Germany.

On 9 May 1945, Keitel met with Marshal Georgi K Zhukov of the Soviet Union. Keitel signed the documents of Germany's unconditional surrender, bringing World War II in Europe to a close and signalling the complete destruction of the Third Reich.   • Wilhelm Keitel was among the senior Nazis tried at the Nuremberg trials. He was found guilty on all four charges against him and sentenced to death by hanging. While the Nuremberg trials have been mentioned in the DWU, Keitel has not been mentioned to have been a defendant.
  • He was portrayed by Kenneth Colley in The Plot to Kill Hitler and Kenneth Cranham in Valkyrie.
