The Wehrmacht were the armed forces of Nazi Germany in World War II. Their intelligence bureau was the Abwehr. (PROSE: Illegal Alien)

According to Miss Shah, British Army soldiers at Dunkirk were cut off by the Wehrmacht, and could potentially have been bombed. (TV: Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart) Although the German army could have easily destroyed the British forces, the Seventh Doctor had convinced Adolf Hitler, who was unstable and disorientated after the Timewyrm had been banished from his mind, to not advance on Dunkirk. Behind the scenes

In the real world, the Wehrmacht included the Luftwaffe (Germany Air Force), the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) and the Heer (German Army). This, however, has not yet been explicitly stated within the DWU.

The Wehrmacht was directly succeeded by the Bundeswehr.
