Flynn Beckett
Flynn Beckett was a prominent philanthropist and expeditionist who had a passion for saving endangered species. After being diagnosed with a terminal illness, he resolved to go on one last expedition, in which he engaged in an illicit affair with his assistant Sasha Yan. It was on this expedition that he met the Ninth Doctor, and they grew rather close with each other. Fearing the worst, he invited the Doctor to his funeral 'in case anything went wrong'.
As it turned out, his wife Idara Beckett knew of this affair. After he died, she edited the memories of his resurrected Fond Farewell self to not include memory of the affair. These memories got stuck in the system, causing Flynn a great deal of distress. He lashed out, possessing the funeral attendants and unwittingly killing guests to try and alert them. After Idara realised that she wanted to know Flynn, flaws and all, she allowed his memories to enter his duplicate, freeing him. (AUDIO: Fond Farewell)
