"A week to reply"[[edit source]]

Just so everyone is aware, Dreyfus apparently is complaining about this page on twitter. Apparently we have a week to reply. To reply to what, I'm not entirely sure, given that he didn't actually do anything except delete the entire section. Which is obviously in violation of our policies. This probably is an issue to be resolved at the Fandom/admin level, but is worth mentioning. Najawin 18:46, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

I do think that the page strayed away from being neutral.
His remarks were accused of being transphobic which is all that needs to be noted. We shouldn't be specifically stating that his comments were transphobic (regardless of our own opinions).
That being said he should have raised a complaint rather than removing the information himself. That is if he did remove the information rather than someone who saw his complaint removing it on his behalf. DrWHOCorrieFan 18:55, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
I don't see anything specifically saying the remarks are transphobic aside from the title. Everything is saying that it's a report. Perhaps the wording could be more clear, but, say, "reported on further transphobic comments" is technically correct, even if to be exceedingly careful we might want to put "alleged", as the subject they're reporting on is (further transphobic comments). Most coincidentally, I had been meaning to do some minor revisions on this page yesterday but completely forgot. While I agree with the general information on this page, I don't think bits like "Dreyfus liked a transphobic Tweet" are noteworthy, and hypothetically we could list dozens of examples. I'd rather see proper information gathering about him from reputable sources than just trawling his Twitter like history. 19:35, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
You say "apart from the title" like it isn't a massive part of the article. And I think we absolutely should be putting "alleged" rather than outright stating further transphobic comments were reported. Also agreed with Epsilon that some things throughout the article are not noteworthy. DrWHOCorrieFan 19:59, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

I think you're reading too much into my comment here. I wouldn't mind changing the header. And I addressed how we aren't outright saying further transphobic comments were reported, but for sake of clarity we might want to use the term "alleged". Najawin 20:04, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

I missed this discussion before I made an edit to the page. I did the header to "Controversy" and added info on his most recent tweets. It's just a list of statements about things he did or said, so I don't think there's much more to it. Also, Dreyfus said "I choose not to use pronouns; you may if you wish". He didn't say "don't use pronouns". As contemptible as I find his actions, scrubbing "he" from the page is just petty and makes it read weird. I'm not going to consistently argue for it but that's my two cents. Chubby Potato 08:17, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

I'm surprised nobody tried to add the category "non-cisgender real world people" prior to us getting rid of that one (and, to be honest, giggling at the thought of it). --NightmareofEden 14:25, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
Ah, Eden, welcome back. Sadly, given how contentious that category was in the first place, putting it here probably would have made what support it had in the first place evaporate. (Which not might matter presently, but I think would matter if we ever decide to revisit the issue.) Najawin 20:59, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
