Anwen Williams was the daughter of Gwen Cooper and Rhys Williams.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Conception and gestation[[edit] | [edit source]]

Gwen had a way with children before Anwen was conceived. After watching her with eleven-year-old Jasmine Samuels, Rhys told her "You'll make a great mum, you will. One day". Gwen replied non-committally "Yeah, well...". They often talked about having children, but by 2009 it still remained a prickly subject. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)

Likening Gwen to her own mother, Freda asked her if she had children. When Gwen responded in the negative, Freda said that she should. Gwen admitted that she was reluctant to bring a child "into this", to which Freda responded that they "takes the life [they're] given". (AUDIO: Asylum)

Gwen discovered that she was pregnant with Anwen when Clement McDonald "smelled" her pregnancy. Later, while she was using Torchwood technology to confirm her pregnancy, Jack Harkness put his hand into the machine that Gwen was using, revealing that there was a bomb inside him. (TV: Children of Earth: Day One)

As a baby[[edit] | [edit source]]

After Anwen was born, she lived in hiding with her parents in Wales. She visited her maternal grandfather in Cardiff with her parents, where Rhys convinced Gwen not to investigate the Miracle, by suggesting that Anwen could live forever. Later, when her house was under attack, she escaped with her parents, Jack Harkness and Rex Matheson before they were all extradited to America on Rex's orders. (TV: The New World) Shortly afterwards, Anwen, along with her father and grandmother, was kidnapped, and used as leverage to force Gwen to turn in Jack Harkness. (TV: The Middle Men) Fortunately, Andy Davidson, along with several other police officers soon arrived and rescued Anwen and the others. (TV: Immortal Sins) Anwen's mother soon was deported from America and returned to Wales. Anwen stayed at home with her family and soon met Oswald Danes, who picked her up after breaking into her house. For obvious reasons, Anwen's mother did not feel comfortable with Anwen being held by a man who had been sentenced to death for raping and murdering a child. She attacked Oswald. (TV: The Gathering)

Childhood[[edit] | [edit source]]

As a toddler, Anwen witnessed her mother lose control in a Swansea supermarket, punching a security guard. (PROSE: Exodus Code)

In 2015, Anwen's consciousness was temporarily moved by the Evolved to the body of Elunedd, a resident of the Bryn Offa Residential Home. (AUDIO: Forgotten Lives)

After Gwen left Torchwood, God visited to find out more about Torchwood and Jack, and babysat for Anwen. She later expressed that Anwen was "a darling". (AUDIO: Thoughts and Prayers)

After surviving an encounter with the Nestene Consciousness on the Atlantic Ocean, Rhys asked Gwen over a payphone to pass along a hug from him to Anwen. (AUDIO: Sargasso)

Gwen and Rhys moved to a lighthouse in Iceland. Whilst living there, Anwen had her first sleepover. (AUDIO: Misty Eyes)

By January 2021, Anwen had a younger brother. (TV: Revolution of the Daleks)
