Some of Calamity James' appearances in other Beano strips have occurred alongside references to the Doctor Who universe.   Calamity James was featured on the cover art of The Beano #3695, an anniversary issue, which depicted a single scene also involving a Dalek.

Calamity James, among others, in a Bananaman strip parodying the Daleks.

He was later among the Beano characters who made a cameo appearance in the Bananaman strip published in The Beano #3869, which had various characters be arrested by Dalek-like post boxes. Although his capture was not seen, his presence in the prison heavily suggested that he was captured by them.
