On 16 January, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1964 - The swordfight between Marco Polo and Tegana in the final episode of Marco Polo was completed at Ealing Studios. Also filmed that day were the various narration inserts that were heard throughout the story, various model shots and the shot of the goldfish pool in "Rider from Shang-Tu". (TCH 2)

- 2001 - The Big Finish audio story Invaders from Mars was recorded in Bristol.

- 2009 - The Big Finish audio story The Angel of Scutari was recorded at the Moat Studios.

- 2014 - The third series of Big Finish's audio series Counter-Measures was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2015 - Big Finish's Iris Wildthyme audio anthology Wildthyme Reloaded began at the Moat Studios.
- 2016 - Big Finish confirmed details on The War Doctor audio box set Casualties of War.
- 2017 - Big Finish's audio anthology The Ninth Doctor Chronicles was recorded at the Moat Studios.
