The newly regenerated Seventh Doctor tried on a mortar board and academic gown from the TARDIS wardrobe. Hoping she would contradict him, he commented "a little portentous perhaps" to Melanie Bush, actually the First Rani in disguise, before dispensing with them whilst the Rani remarked behind his back "pretentious is the word."
