Sexton Blake
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Sexton Blake was a fictional detective whose adventures were published in The Sexton Blake Library on 20th century Earth.
In the 511st century, Blake was commonly known to the Terraphiles due to Sexton Blake and the Terror of the Tongs being one of the only texts of Earth to survive. Urquart Banning-Cannon was a large fan of the character; he believed that Sherlock Holmes had once been known as "Sexton Blake's office boy". Behind the scenes
- The Sexton Blake series was disparagingly referred to in contemporary culture as "the office boy's Sherlock Holmes". The connection between Blake and Holmes in The Coming of the Terraphiles is a reference to this.
- Zenith originated as a nemesis of Blake.
- Seaton Begg was created by Michael Moorcock as a homage to Sexton Blake, with Begg taking Blake's place as the nemesis of Zenith the Albino.
