The Knowledge was a test taken by London cab drivers to prove they knew the name and location of all streets in the city, and the shortest routes to get there.

In November 2023, when the Fourteenth Doctor persuaded cabbie Shaun Temple to give him a lift from Camden Market to the site of a recent UFO crash, even though Shaun was off-duty and had intended to pick up his wife and daughter, the Doctor used his psychic paper to claim to be "Grand Master of 'the Knowledge'". The paper briefly displayed "Grand Mistress" instead as it had not caught up on the Doctor no longer being the female Thirteenth Doctor following his most recent regeneration. The Doctor presumed Shaun had been convinced by the brag about the Knowledge, and he did know London as well as those who had taken it, including the streets not marked on any map.
