In the 511st century, in which the fictional detective Sexton Blake was one of the only remnants of Earth culture, there was an individual named Sexton Begg. At this point in time, it was common to name oneself after characters or people from the past. (PROSE: The Coming of the Terraphiles [+]Loading...["The Coming of the Terraphiles (novel)"])
Behind the scenes
- Seaton Begg was created by Michael Moorcock as an homage to Sexton Blake. Begg appeared in a series of short stories set in the Michael Moorcock Multiverse later collected under The Metatemporal Detective.
- Moorcock later returned to the character for a story in the Obverse Books anthology Zenith Lives!.
- In The Metatemporal Detective, Begg is a member of Moorcock's von Bek family. He frequently spars with his distant cousin Zenith the Albino.
