Behind the scenes
- The Wicked Witch of the West is a character from L. Frank Baum's Oz franchise, being the main antagonist of the first book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and its seminal 1939 film adaptation The Wizard of Oz. Both versions of this story open with protagonist Dorothy Gale's house being carried into the air, whole and intact, by a tornado, which is the incident implicitly referred to in Spyfall [+]Loading...["Spyfall (TV story)"]; it is specifically in the aforementioned 1939 film that during the flying house scene, Dorothy catches a glimpse of a familiar character from her everyday life, Mrs Gulch, transforming into the villainous Wicked Witch, furthering the parallels between the movie scene and the scene of the reveal of O's true identity in Spyfall.
