Brainwave was a Spectrum Shades short story printed in TV Century 21 that contained elements from the Doctor Who universe. It mentioned Unity City, a location first introduced in The Daleks comic story Duel of the Daleks.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Spectrum Shade William Schaible witnesses as several UFOs suddenly appear over New Jersey. He immediately takes some photographs with his camera, which no other person is able to do, before the crafts disappear after a little over thirty seconds. Believing that his pictures may be of assistance to the World Government and their continuing investigations into the mystery of UFOs, Schaible sends his evidence to TV 21.

Later, Colonel White of Spectrum replies by commending Schaible for his swift action and awarding him £1. White further states that he will be taking the photographs to Unity City later in the week, where the World President and the government scientists can fully analyse them.
