Puccini and the Doctor was the first story in the audio anthology Deadly Strangers, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Matthew Jacobs, being the first script for Doctor Who he’d written since the Movie which initially introduced the Eighth Doctor in 1996. The story featured Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor, India Fisher as Charley and Jaye Griffiths as Audacity.

  • In an earlier incarnation the Doctor met Puccini at his deathbed who told him about the role of a future Doctor in inspiring Madame Butterfly.

  • The Doctor mentions a doctor he knows who’d kill to meet Puccini, and then reflects that she did in fact kill him, alluding to Grace Holloway and her role in the death of Seventh Doctor as depicted in TV: Doctor Who [+]Loading...["Doctor Who (TV story)"].
