Series 5 (SJA)

Series 5 of The Sarah Jane Adventures is expected to air on CBBC sometime in 2011. On 4 March 2010, the BBC announced that it had officially commissioned both a 4th and 5th series of the spin-off. Part of the series was planned to film in 2010 alongside Series 4 and it was later announced that half the series had been completed as planned.

With the death of Elisabeth Sladen in April 2011, the BBC announced that no new episodes will be made. According to the obituary, at the Doctor Who News Page, three stories (six episodes) of Series 5 had been completed.

• Luke Smith was originally planned to make an appearance in the final story of the series but due to the death of Elizabeth Sladen prior to the series' completion, it is likely that The Man Who Wasn't There will mark the final appearance of Luke Smith.

The series will be made up of 3 full serials, all being two-parters. The series is expected to air on CBBC some time in October. Luke Smith will make an appearance in the third story.
