Snow

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Snow was a form of precipitation which occurred only when the atmospheric temperature was below the freezing point of water. It fell on planets other than Earth, including Gallifrey, Sto, Ood Sphere and Ribos (during its Icetime season). The Tenth Doctor had a particular fondness for snow, commenting with glee when he arrived on Ood Sphere, "snow, real snow". (DW: Gridlock, Voyage of the Damned, The Ribos Operation, Planet of the Ood)

Whilst on Earth, the Doctor sometimes found himself in snowy conditions:

Fake snow

Artificial "snow", made from the ashes of the destroyed Sycorax space ship. (DW: The Christmas Invasion)

The Tenth Doctor ran into "fake snow" on Earth on three consecutive Christmases. His repeated failure to encounter genuine snow made him extremely grateful when, on the planet of the Ood, he finally saw "real" snow. (DW: Planet of the Ood)

Behind the scenes

  • One of the deleted scenes for The Waters of Mars showed the Tenth Doctor expressing his love for snow, only to have Yuri Kerenski disappoint him, by telling him that it's the "carbon wash" cleaning the atmosphere. As this event didn't make it to screen, however, it's not considered — by this wiki —to have actually happened in the DWU.
